The direction is given away by the bend, so the only question is how far. A short piece of a big circle and a short piece of a small one look almost the same, and the shorter the piece the less there is to tell them apart. Nothing is drawn while you decide, because a circle you could watch grow would be a thing to fit rather than a thing to judge.
